Profile of the participants of the “ pregnant women´s interdisciplinary treatment service” Perfil das participantes do “serviço de atendimento interdisciplinar à gestante”

The period of gestation is considered a period of deep changes in the life of a woman. Thus, all the information and knowledge are necessary to lessen the anxieties and anguishes that occur in such period. It is essential an interdisciplinary service that focuses both the psychological and physical aspects in order to assist the pregnant woman in an overall manner. The objective of this study was to outline the profile of the pregnant women who took part of the “Pregnant Women´s Interdisciplinary Treatment Service” carried out at the Physiotherapy Clinic of Northern Paraná Regional University Hospital, Londrina, Paraná State, (HURNPr – UEL), and also to discuss about the use of physiotherapy techniques during the group therapies. Two questionnaires, formulated by the interdisciplinary team, were answered by the women, one in the first meeting and the other during the puerperal period. The target population consisted of 30 pregnant women, with ages between 16 and 42 years old, married, with High School level, workers, with family income superior to 10 minimum wages, first pregnancy and sedentary. The techniques learned in the course were used by just over half of the pregnant women. <p><p>O período gestacional apresenta-se como um momento de profundas modificações na vida da mulher. Sendo assim, a informação e o conhecimento são necessários para diminuir as ansiedades e angústias que cercam esse período. É essencial um serviço interdisciplinar que aborde tanto os aspectos psicológicos quanto físicos para que se dê um atendimento global à gestante. O objetivo deste estudo foi traçar o perfil das participantes do “Serviço de Atendimento Interdisciplinar a Gestantes” desenvolvido no Ambulatório de Fisioterapia do Hospital Universitário Regional do Norte do Paraná – Universidade Estadual de Londrina (HURNPr-UEL) e, também, discutir a utilização ou não das técnicas treinadas pela fisioterapia. Foram aplicados dois questionários formulados pela equipe interdisciplinar, um no primeiro encontro e outro no pós-parto. A população foi composta por 30 gestantes, com idades entre 16 e 42 anos, casadas, com nível de escolaridade, empregadas, com renda familiar superior a 10 salários mínimos, primigestas e sedentárias. Observa-se que as técnicas aprendidas no curso foram utilizadas por pouco mais da metade das gestantes.
