Posaconazole is a broad-spectrum triazole family antifungal used in the treatment and prophylaxis of invasive fungalinfections in patients 13 years of age or older, in which other treatments have not been effective or tolerated.In June 2016 the European Medicines Agency and the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products issued awarning alerting that because of differences in the frequency of dosing, interactions with food and plasma levels achievedby the drug, tablets and posaconazole suspension are not interchangeable
