Abstract
Chronic neuropathic pain is a common symptom in ambulatory medicine practice, usually having a high impact on the quality of life of affected patients. Few family physicians use pain killers different from nonsteroidal analgesics, and referral to apain specialist is usually early. For these reasons, an academic activity was performed in the Department of Family andCommunity Medicine at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, in order to discuss three publications related to this topic andthe available evidence on pharmacological management of neuropathic pain to improve our responsiveness as primary carephysicians on behalf of our patients.
