O artigo discute a rela&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o entre a justi&amp;ccedil;a e a viol&amp;ecirc;ncia na Regi&amp;atilde;o Sudoeste do Paran&amp;aacute; nos anos anteriores &amp;agrave; &amp;ldquo;efetiva&amp;rdquo; coloniza&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o da regi&amp;atilde;o (1920-1930). Buscamos compreender as rela&amp;ccedil;&amp;otilde;es estabelecidas em um sistema punitivo-repressivo (aparelho judici&amp;aacute;rio) que conviveu com a viol&amp;ecirc;ncia popular, bem como a forma e as condi&amp;ccedil;&amp;otilde;es dessas rela&amp;ccedil;&amp;otilde;es. Para tanto, a an&amp;aacute;lise do processo contra um habitante da regi&amp;atilde;o e seu filho transcorrido em 1920 na Comarca de Clevel&amp;acirc;ndia &amp;eacute; capaz de demonstrar as dificuldades que o aparelho judici&amp;aacute;rio encontrou diante da viol&amp;ecirc;ncia no Interior do Paran&amp;aacute;, onde a justi&amp;ccedil;a e a viol&amp;ecirc;ncia mantinham uma rela&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o ambivalente.<br>The article discusses the relationship between justice and violence in the southwestern region of Paran&amp;aacute; in the years prior to the &amp;ldquo;effective&amp;rdquo; colonization of the region (1920-1930). We sought to comprehend how, under what conditions and which relationships were established by a punitive-repressive system (the judiciary apparatus) that dealt with street justice. To that end, an analysis of the 1920 case against an inhabitant of the region and his son in Clevel&amp;acirc;ndia County demonstrates the difficulties the judiciary apparatus faced against violence in the Paran&amp;aacute; countryside, where justice and violence had an ambiguous relationship.<br>El art&amp;iacute;culo discute la relaci&amp;oacute;n entre la justicia y la violencia en el sureste del Estado de Paran&amp;aacute; (Brasil) durante los a&amp;ntilde;os anteriores a la &amp;ldquo;efectiva&amp;rdquo; colonizaci&amp;oacute;n de la regi&amp;oacute;n (1920-1930). Buscamos comprender de qu&amp;eacute; forma y cu&amp;aacute;les fueron las condiciones y relaciones que se establecieron entre un sistema punitivo/represivo (aparato judicial) y la violencia popular. Para ello, el an&amp;aacute;lisis del proceso judicial contra un habitante y su hijo, ocurrido en la comarca de Clevel&amp;acirc;ndia en 1920, permite demostrar las dificultades con las que tropez&amp;oacute; el aparato judicial frente a la violencia en el interior del Estado de Paran&amp;aacute;, donde justicia y violencia manten&amp;iacute;an una relaci&amp;oacute;n ambivalente.
