Abstract
Relationships established for cosmetic surgery and other beauty practices as socio-technical instruments mediators in the alleged demands of a liberal democratic society to overcome racism that, however, is unable to leave the scopic regime are reviewed. The aesthetic interventions generate a specific, surgical, universal beauty and therefore post-racial. This claim, paradoxically, ends up being post-human and discursively situated equidistant from surgical-center aesthetic argument, and as radical poles, both raciológico-xenophobic ideas as to progesista-emancipatory, both conservative regarding the "democratization" of cosmetic surgery liberal.
