Abstract

Framed by the theoretical precepts of Cultural Studies, specifcally within the feld of flm studies and its relationship with literary texts, and complemented by Bakhtin’s theory of carnival, the present article analyses the scene of the party of the novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and entitled The Great Gatsby, using the written text and comparing its latest flmic versions made in 1974 and in 2013.
