Abstract

The microwave reflection and absorbing effects of epoxy matrix composite materials containing lossy substances and a nickel-coated carbon fiber resonator have been studied.Based on frequency scanning tests, it has been found that transformation of absorption to reflection of microwave appears on condition that the content of resonator added to the composite amounts to a critical value (V f ).As for 70 volume per cent Mn-Zn ferrite embedded in epoxy, the critical value equals 0.4 per cent by volume.V fc depends on the dielectric properties of the matrix material. The smaller the imaginary part of the complex permittivity e., the greater the value of V f .V f has a wide range for low-e.materials, in which electromagnetic wave absorption changes to reflection gradually. The transformation effect of absorption to reflection is due to the increase in charge capacitance and strengthening of the interaction of the inductive electromagnetic field of resonators with increasing V f Key words: resonator, composite material, microwave absorption to reflection transformation effect
