Abstract

The crystal and molecular structures of two diorganotin dicarboxylates, namely [nBu2Sn(02CC6H3-2-0H-4-0H)2] and [nBu2Sn(02CCH2C6F 5 ) 2 ], are reported. In each structure the tin atom exists in a skew trapezoidal bipyramidal geometry with the basal plane being defined by two asymmetrically chelating carboxylate ligands and the two organic substituents lying over the longer Sn-0 interactions.Significant intra-and inter-molecular hydrogen bonding contacts stabilise the structure of [nBu2Sn(C>2CC6H3-2-OH-4-OH)2].The reduced degree of asymmetry in the mode of coordination of the carboxylate ligands in the structure of [nBu2Sn(C>2CCH 2 C6F5)2] may be correlated with the presence of electron withdrawing perfluorophenyl substituent.Vol. 18, No. 4, 1995 Crystal and Molecular Structures of Dl-n-Butyltin BIS(Dihydroxy-2,4-Benzoale) and Dl-n-Butyltin BIS(PentaJluorophenylacetate) Vol. 18, No. 4, 1995 Crystal and Molecular Structures of Dl-n-Butyltin BIS(Dihydroxy-2,4-Benzoate) and Dl-n-Butyltin BIS(Pentaßuorophenylacetate)
