Abstract
The environmental structure around Li + in highly concentrated solutions has been investigated through measurements of isotopic substitution-neutron diffraction and the low-frequency isotropic Raman spectra. The least-squares fitting analysis has been adopted for the Li + difference interference function, Au(ö), observed for 25 mol% LiBr and 33 mol% Lil methanolic solutions, and for 12 mol% DCOOLi and HCOOLi aqueous solutions, in order to determine the structure parameters on the solvated ion-pair Li + ••• X" (X: Br, I and DCCK)) in these solutions. It has been found that the first solvation shell of Li* in these highly concentrated solutions is significantly modified by the nearest neighbor counter ions.
