Abstract
This article provides details about meeting points, articulations, relationships and theoretical and methodological oppositions between narrative inquiry and communal art practices, found in the contrast and tension between inquiry and creation, the inquirer and the artist, and the spectator and the object of inquiry. Firstly, we dwell on issues and considerations relevant to narrative inquiry; secondly, we present the notion of communal arts practices and some of its general characteristics; finally, we highlight and put forward those elements that arise at the confluence and contrast of these two ways of approaching reality, and can serve as a guide for studies coming from the social sciences and for the development of artistic practices in specific contexts.
