Abstract
Results from tests for the accuracy of the self positioning of the automatic vertical index built into the Kern DKM 2A theodolite are quoted. The advantage to be derived from theodolites with automatic vertical index are discussed. Height control established with reciprocal rays, auxiliary point and by traversing is analysed. Trigonometric levelling and spirit levelling are compared.
