The "Ecological Capital" image of Curitiba was created on the ninety's by the municipality administration in a evident citymarketing process. The analysis of aspects likes the quality of water, air, green areas and solid residues, here approached in a perspective of urban environment, was shown problematic conditions in view of a corrected ecologic environment. This study analysis the incompatibility between the "Ecological Capital" title and the socioenvironmental conditions of Curitiba city
