Abstract
The lattice data for $N_f=2$ and $N_f=3$ based on staggered fermion formulations have been parameterized using a phenomenological equation of state for noninteracting but massive quasiparticles. Such a model would be a preferable starting point for phenomenological hadronization models and for a description of the strongly interacting matter near the phase transition.
